Chicken and mixed vegetables with white rice. Everything is fresh, hot, perfect.

I confess. I always order the same thing over and over and have no tried anything else on the massive array of items they offer like any of DC's Chinese takeout joints. But what I get (5 fried chicken wings, white steamed rice, Mountain Dew with mambo sauce on the side) is the best of all the takeout joints, any of the chicken places and is easy on my wallet.Nothing fancy or culinary to review here. It's just good-sized wings dropped in the same oil (grease?) as everything else they cook just long enough to get a crunchy skin and tender flesh. Steamed rice is steamed rice. But it's consistent, it's delicious, they're fast, they deliver, they take credit cards (unlike some of the Chinese joints closer to home) without harassing me to spend at least $10 (unless you get delivery) and they're not worried about your feelings. Customer service is good, but customer quality isn't, meaning you're not going to be greeted with hellos and smiles. It's straight to the point, 'What you want?" which works for me.Yes, this is a positive review for a Chinese delivery/takeout joint because of its fried chicken. If you've ordered anything other than the chicken and steamed white rice and didn't like it, I have nothing to do with that. Get the chicken next time.

Mediocre Chinese food at best. Good fries, though

First time there and I'm sure it won't be the last. The chicken wings with fries and mambo sauce sure hit the spot. The dumplings were equally good too. While it's a carry out place, they were ok with us hanging out and eating our food on premises and offered us extra sauce without asking. Great people, great food.

It's greasy Chinese delivery. And for that, it is what it is. If you go visit the place for takeout, it's a bit unsavory. I have since discovered Ming's Chinese takeout on H St, which has supplanted Lucky Carryout from my takeout rotation.

Lucky?!? - only in that we didn't get sick. One star is two too many! This is the first time Yelp has totally failed me. This place is foul!BF and I wanted to eat chinese at home. I searched Yelp and was pleasantly surprised by the reviews I read. Despite the awful look of the place, I decided to give it a shot - sometimes great food comes from unlikely looking places. I spent about 30 minutes waiting and was pleasantly surprised when I saw fresh fruits and veggies being brought into the kitchen. NONE of this produce was destined for anything coming out of the kitchen.I didn't expect a lot and I'm all in favor of hole-in-the-wall finds, but Lucky managed to both disappoint and disgust. The greasy, tasteless slop we received was vile. Worse yet, all the slop tasted the same. They won't see me again!
